Course Overview

The HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid course equips learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to respond confidently to a wide range of medical emergencies. Delivered by Defensive Solutions Australia in partnership with Asset College (RTO 31718), this nationally recognised training aligns with ARC and ANZCOR guidelines to ensure safe, effective, and compliant first aid care. Suitable for both workplace and community settings, this course provides realistic, scenario-based learning to build capability in managing real-world incidents.

Course Outcomes

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

Assess emergency situations and respond safely
Perform CPR to ARC standards
Use first aid equipment including AEDs and epinephrine auto-injectors
Provide treatment for bleeding, burns, fractures, medical conditions, environmental injuries, and more
Apply infection control procedures and complete incident reporting
Provide care with confidence, professionalism, and psychological awareness

Learners will leave with the competence to act as designated workplace first aiders.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal academic entry requirements.
Participants must:

Be physically capable of performing CPR on the floor for at least 2 minutes
Provide photo identification
Understand basic English to participate in training and assessment
All requirements align with national first aid and regulatory standards.
