HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Assess emergency situations and respond safely
  • Perform CPR to ARC standards
  • Use first aid equipment including AEDs and epinephrine auto-injectors
  • Provide treatment for bleeding, burns, fractures, medical conditions, environmental injuries, and more
  • Apply infection control procedures and complete incident reporting
  • Provide care with confidence, professionalism, and psychological awareness

Learners will leave with the competence to act as designated workplace first aiders.

There are no formal academic entry requirements.
Participants must:

  • Be physically capable of performing CPR on the floor for at least 2 minutes
  • Provide photo identification
  • Understand basic English to participate in training and assessment
    All requirements align with national first aid and regulatory standards.

This course includes the following nationally recognised units:

  • HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
  • HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

  • Duration: 1 day (approximately 8 hours)
  • Format: Face-to-face classroom learning combined with practical scenario-based training
  • Location: Delivered across Queensland by qualified first aid and security trainers
    Training incorporates realistic simulations to build practical confidence.

Learners may continue their progression into advanced or industry-specific qualifications, including:

  • HLTAID014 – Provide Advanced First Aid
  • HLTAID015 – Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy
  • CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations
    This course also supports WHS compliance for workplace first aiders.

Fee for Service: $175.00
Includes all training materials, practical assessments, and issuance of a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment upon successful completion.

There are no direct licensing requirements linked to HLTAID011; however, this qualification satisfies WHS obligations for workplace first aiders and is commonly required within the security, events, and community services sectors.
Certification is valid for 3 years, with annual CPR refresher training recommended under ARC guidelines.
