Security Crowd Control Refresher Course

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Confidently manage conflict and security risks using negotiation strategies
  • Apply safe, lawful, and effective crowd control and restraint techniques
  • Identify and respond to potential threats or aggression
  • Execute empty-hand control techniques ethically and safely
  • Maintain professionalism, composure, and decision-making under pressure
  • Understand post-incident responsibilities and reporting requirements
  • Remain compliant with Queensland security licensing and industry standards

Participants must:

  • Hold a current Queensland Security Provider (Class 1) licence (with Crowd Controller/Bodyguard)
  • Be required to refresh or maintain operational competency for licensing purposes
  • Possess sufficient English, literacy, and numeracy skills for safety and communication
  • Be physically capable of performing practical crowd control exercises

This refresher course covers the following nationally recognised units:

  • CPPSEC3101 – Manage conflict and security risks through negotiation
  • CPPSEC3121 – Control persons using empty hand techniques

These units ensure participants remain competent, compliant, and confident in operational environments.

  • Classroom-based theory
  • Practical, scenario-based exercises
  • Role-play and hands-on skill reinforcement
    Locations:
    Delivered at Defensive Solutions Australia training facilities in partnership with Asset College (RTO 31718).

Completion of this refresher supports professional development and licensing pathways, including:

  • CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations
  • CPP31418 Certificate III in Close Protection Operations
  • Firearms and Defensive Tactics Training Programs

This ensures ongoing compliance and readiness for higher-level security responsibilities.
