CPP50619 – Diploma of Security and Risk Management

Graduates of this course will be able to:

  • Lead and manage security operations and personnel strategically
  • Assess and mitigate complex security and organisational risks
  • Develop and implement comprehensive security and risk management plans
  • Coordinate incident response and operational performance
  • Apply legal, ethical, and organisational compliance in decision-making
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and manage high-level reporting
  • Operate strategically across diverse security and organisational environments

Participants must hold one of the following:

  • CPP40707 Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management, or
  • CPP40719 Certificate IV in Security Management, or
  • CPP41519 Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis

Participants should have sufficient experience in security operations and the English language, literacy, and numeracy skills to undertake the program.

  • CPPSEC5003 – Assess security risk management options
  • CPPSEC5004 – Develop security risk management plans
  • CPPSEC5005 – Implement security risk management plans
  • CPPSEC5008 – Analyse threat environment and devise strategies to respond to active threats
  • CPPSEC5009 – Implement communication systems to respond to active threats

Electives may vary depending on learner, industry, or delivery mode. Custom unit packaging fees: $500 (full study), $250 (RPL).

Duration: 12–18 months (depending on experience and mode of study)

Location: Delivered across Queensland through Defensive Solutions Australia in partnership with Asset College

Graduates may progress to:

  • Senior strategic or consulting roles (Security Operations Manager, Security and Risk Consultant, Corporate Security Advisor, Protective Services Director)
  • Advanced diploma or university-level programs in risk and security management

    • $3,600 – Full online study
    • $1750 – RPL (NOTE: All RPL enrolments will be referred to Asset College)

    Payment Options:

    • Pay-as-you-go: 4 instalments
    • Split payment: 50% upfront, 50% on completion

    Additional Fees:

    • Extension: One month – $150 (full qualification), $50 (single unit); Six months – $300 (full qualification), $150 (single unit)
    • Assessment re-submission: $50 per assessment after two failed attempts
    • Re-enrolment: 25% of course fee (within 3 months), 50% (within 4–12 months)

Completion provides a Certificate in CPP50619 Diploma of Security and Risk Management.
